Votion Records - The Solution for House & Techno In Boston

Votion Records (formerly The Common Grounds) is a Boston-based record label committed to discovering and elevating emerging talent. Focused on supporting local DJs and releasing innovative music, the label curates immersive events that showcase the diverse sounds of the city's underground music scene.

Before joining in August 2024, Votion Records (formerly The Common Grounds) lacked a social media strategy, making it challenging to build a house and techno community in a city like Boston, where those genres aren’t widely popular. I introduced a strategy that maximized engagement and event attendance by:

• Managed all social media platforms, including content planning, copywriting, design direction, and scheduling for consistent and on-brand output.

• Launching a TikTok account to expand audience reach.

• Developing strategies and content series such as artist spotlights, event highlights, holiday roundups, leveraging EDM trends with event footage, real-time content, and bts footage.

• Engaging with followers through responding to comments and DMs.

• Collaborating with other event groups to build community.

• Tracking performance metrics (engagement, reach, click-throughs) to refine strategy and optimize content based on audience behavior.

• Editing and sharing polished event videos across platforms.

• Establishing a consistent posting schedule to grow followers and engagement.

• Utilizing paid-ads to increase our reach and event turnout.

• Conduct press outreach, create promo schedules, media list updates, and gather press clips for distribution.
